The Ismaili Centres are symbolic markers of the permanent presence and core values of Ismaili communities around the world. Incorporating spaces for social and cultural gatherings, intellectual engagement and reflection, as well as spiritual contemplation, they are bridges of friendship and understanding, and serve to enhance relationships among faith communities, government and civil society.
His Worship, Naheed Nenshi, Mayor of the City of Calgary, will deliver remarks on his vision for Canada and share his insights and hopes on how Canada can thrive and succeed as a nation over the next 150 years. This event will take place at the Ismaili Centre, Toronto on Tuesday, 30 May at 8:00 PM EDT and will be webcast live at TheIsmaili.org/live.
In a world in which some speak of a growing clash of civilisations, we believe the Museum will help address what is not so much a clash of civilisations, as it is a clash of ignorances. The new Museum will have a strong educational vocation: it will be a place for active inquiry, for discussion and research, for lectures and seminars, and for an array of collaborative programs with educational institutions and with other museums.
